Keith Yackey - How to keep your word to yourself | Trauma Healing Podcast

In this episode, I sit with my guest and friend Keith Yackey, the founder of marriedgame.com. Keith is someone I met about a year ago just through connections and mutual events, and you got bumped into a few people a few times and became pals. We want to have Keith on the show for a while because I love his mission, and it's to help couples stay together; he spoke about the fact that he believes that over eighty percent of divorces that happen don't have to happen. He talks about accountability about what it means to honor your truth but also his own journey, which is both heartbreaking and amazing of his wife walking away from him, taking their child, and saying, I don't want to be with you to six years later as of today being back in the best relationship with his wife and child that he has ever had by doing the work. And I know so many of us, as we go through these journeys, face the difficulty in trying to reconcile our past mistakes and build to be the person we want to be and ultimately show up every day. Still, we struggle with keeping our word, holding true to who we are, and keeping such something really wonderful during the interview, I won't spoil it, but I'll we'll say this he said, you're not what you say you say you're what you do. That very struck me because I believe that to be incredibly true.
This episode is incredible for someone who goes through hitting rock bottom, building themselves back up because we all have been there. We all can get to where we want to go as long as we get clear about that direction, hold ourselves incredibly accountable, and be a person of character who does what we say we're going to do.
So, this is an episode I've been looking forward to recording for a very long time.
